On March 28th, the Lincoln Theatre in downtown Marion will be hosting a special screening of My Lady of Whims (1925), a captivating silent film starring the iconic Clara Bow. Experience the magic of the Roaring Twenties as the Tri-Cities Jazz Orchestra provides a dynamic live musical accompaniment, bringing the film to life in a way that only live jazz can. Have you ever wanted to craft your own honey pot? Now you can! Join Laurel Creek Pottery on Friday, March 21st from 6-8pm for a honey pot making class complete with a ceramic spoon. After a brief wheel throwing demonstration by potter, Margie Coates, you will alter previously thrown forms and slab build lids and spoons. You are not done yet- underglazes are provided to paint your masterpiece.. Cost of the class is $40. Enjoy live music all month long at Creek Bottom Brewing, Distillery & Restaurant. Performers this month include Harmony Holler and Deadman’s Hand. Also, the Whitetop Mountain Maple Festival is back! The community of Whitetop has been making syrup for fifty years! It was on March 13, 1975, after 18 months of hard work, that Whitetop had its first run of sap, and the Maple Festival has been a tradition ever since. Enjoy a pancake meal with genuine maple syrup, tapped fresh from the second highest peak in Virginia. Pancakes will be served at the community center, all day Saturday, March 29th, and Sunday, March 30th. Throughout the day, tapping tours will be offered on Whitetop Mountain, and local musicians will be playing at the Fire Hall.
