Happy New Year! Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to learn the traditional art form of woodcarving? Join the Mountain Traditions Woodcarvers for a woodcarving workshop at the Big Stone Gap Visitors Center on January 14th from 5 – 7 PM. Also, enjoy storytelling at the Appalachian Mercantile every Thursday at 10 AM. As always, enjoy trivia at Oma’s House in Coeburn and DJ bingo at Curklin’s in the beautiful downtown Big Stone Gap!

The month of January means it is time for the annual January Jams Fest at the historic Barter Theatre in downtown Abingdon. The son of the legendary banjo picker Dr. Ralph Stanley, Ralph II has had 2 Grammy nominations on previous albums he recorded with Rebel Records.
