Listed below are highlights of some of the most popular events this month, including live music every Saturday at GoodTimes in downtown Big Stone Gap and a free community-wide egg hunt hosted on UVA-Wise’s campus on April 19th. Make your way down to Duffield for good food at the Spring Food Truck Rally Kickoff on April 11th from 11 AM – 1 PM. In addition to the food truck rally, check out live Bluegrass and old time country music every Saturday night at the historic Carter Family Fold. Tickets are available for all shows and range from $10 – $20.

Do you love to fish or do you want to learn the art of angling? Blue Ridge Discovery Center is hosting a women’s flyfishing course for both experienced anglers and beginners alike on April 26th – 27th. Observe the patterns of the sun moving across the sky by making a sundial to measure time! On Saturday, April 26th at Seven Sisters Brewery, participants will be able to make a ceramic sundial. Participants will be given instruction on how to build their ceramic sundial. After construction, they will apply color to the sundial, and scratch a design of their choosing. The Gate Center is hosting a Mediterranean cooking class by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Food Safety Agent on Tuesday, April 29th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Not only will you learn how to prepare Mediterranean cuisine, but information will be given on how a Mediterranean diet can impact your health.
